Motley Fool writer says “Game Over” at BB
An article on MSNBC says that Blockbuster (BB) is shifting away from the rental video game business. Although you can still get a free video game rental when returning movies in-store as part of its Total Access program, it began cutting back on its Game Rush concept last year and just announced that it is selling its Rhino Video Games chain to GameStop.
Apparently, while rental video games have provided ample sales for BB in the past, growth has slowed as of late. It seems unlikely that BB would abandon games altogether–perhaps they are re-tooling their strategy.
